Careers, Pathways and Transition - Mrs Michelle Wood

Welcome to the Careers, Pathways and Transition Department. I welcome any parent or student into my office. My role here at Saint Francis College is a broad and varied one. Here is a brief outline of what my responsibilities and duties:

- Keep up to date with all Career related information through networking, reading and attending professional development courses. 

- Counsel students and parents on career related topics. 

- Assist and provide information on all universities opportunities, accommodation options, and alternated pathways into further education.  

- Promote career information including job opportunities, courses, open days, camps, scholarships and key dates. 

- Understand the different processes between states. E.g. VTAC / UAC

- Provide assistance with all early entry programs. 

- Organize guest speakers from different universities, job training companies and community employment businesses. 

- Create partnerships and relationships with community businesses. 

- Implement career programs and job placement opportunities for students who want to leave school. 

- Assist with preparing students in finding employment. 

- Co-ordinate Taste of Tafe programs with TAFE NSW.

- Provide information through a University Night / Careers Expo for students and their parents. 

- Provide students resources to assist their career plan. 

- Promote and demonstrate resources on our College Careers Webpage. www.saintfranciscareers.com
